While the Country Shuts Down…
things here at E3:20 Acres are still chugging right along. Recent cancellations and closures have had little effect on us thus far. Since only one of us works outside the home, long ago we chose to homeschool our boys. But we are aware of how the national emergency is impacting the families around us, J’s coworkers, and far away friends via social media.
I cannot offer much in light recent events, except for this: Kindness doesn’t cost anything. The apostle Paul said “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12 NLT). He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” (Ephesians 1:8 NLT)
Showing kindness in heavier doses than we may feel like, is the wisest way to turn many situations around. The coming days will turn into weeks. Being “off schedule/routine” outside of planned vacation time (full of planned activities and events) is unusual for some. Others will try our dwindling patience. Admittedly, I am one who just functions better with a routine. At some point, we will all be winging it! We can care for those around us best by remembering that we are all “disrupted” together.
