New Year, New Word, New Adventures
I’m not big on resolutions. Statements that get declared with good intentions, just to be forgotten or set aside a few days/weeks later. I am big on seeking a word from God. Something specific and personal to carry me through my walk in the new year. I’ve been looking and praying. And God is always right on time. This morning in my devotional, there it was.
But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. Isaiah 43:17-19 NLT
I have heard this verse before. But this morning, the words hit me anew.
FORGET THE PAST HURTS YOU HAVE ALREADY FORGIVEN. It is wrong thinking that keeping them between you and others is protection. It is not. It is driving you further apart- the opposite of what your heart really wants!
BOOM. DROP THE MIC!
Now when past forgiven hurts slip into my mind, I am quick to reject them and focus on this verse. And I am ready for the new things God has in store.
These are new! More to come on this adventure!
